Pole School Session (6 weeks)
Starts August 18th – September 27th

Welcome to the Pole School at Aerial Arts of Rochester!
Train with Jenna, Cheryl, Annie, Julie, Sheila and Jennifer!

Pole School Tuition is $70.00 for 6 weeks.
It allows you to attend Stilettos Pole Dancing,  Levels 1 – 4 (you may attend your personal pole level) and Choreography classes.
It is our most cost effective package and offers a best value if you want to attend at least 2 classes or more per week!
Teens ages 16+ may participate with parental consent.
All Pole Classes are 1 Hour in length.

Walk Ins & Punch Pass

Punch Passes are valid for the following pole classes;  Stilettos Pole Dancing &  Level 1 Introduction to Pole. It is also valid for; Barre, Booty Bounce Bootcamp, Cirque Fit, JumpFit Trampoline and Stretch and Injury Prevention. Punch Passes do not expire, however they can not be shared multiple people. Punch Passes can not be used for Levels 2 – 4 pole – please enroll into pole school.
*Punch Passes are 5 classes for $50 or 10 classes for $80
* Walk In for $12.00 – no reservations required. If you have a group of more than 3, please call ahead.

Class Descriptions

Stilettos Pole Dancing

This class is for everyone! If you want to learn how to be sassy, this class is it! You’ll learn choreography around and with the pole in addition to floor work. Bring heels, leg warmers also recommended.
Mondays at 8:30pm Starting August 18th
* Offered as a walk in/punch pass class

TwerkIT

Work It as you Twerk It! This fun class will have you learning all different ways to your assets! Shake it, drop it, pop it and lock it!
Thursday at 7:30pm Starting August 21st
* Offered as a walk in/punch pass class

Level 1 – Introduction to Pole

You’ll want to start with Level 1 – Intro to Pole formatted for first timers and entry level students. You’ll learn the basics – from how to grip the pole, stand, sit and execute simple spins.
Mondays at 6:45pm
Tuesdays at 5:45pm
Saturdays returning in the fall

Level 2 – Spins, Poses & Climbs

This is where you start learning complex spins, static poses and holds in addition to different methods of how to climb the pole.
Tuesdays at 7:45pm

Level 2 – Combos & Freestyle

Let’s take your skills and start putting the all together. This class allows you to create and let loose with the fabulous, Cheryl Hayes!
Mondays at 5:45pm

Rock & Roll Pole Choreography (Levels 2 & 3)

Learning pole tricks is great, but try putting them all together in a routine and it’s like taking your workout to another level! Join Sheila and together you can ROCK the pole!
Wednesdays at 8:00pm
* Please enroll in pole school to take this class

Level 3 – Transitions, Inverts & Combinations

In Level 3, you’ll be working on inverted combinations and fun transitions. Make sure you have your basics inverts solid before taking this class. They include; Basic, Inverted Crucifix, Inside and Outside Leg Hang and Inverted Straddle.

Meet Your Pole Professors!

Instructor2Jennifer Dovidio, Owner/Instructor
Jennifer is classically trained dancer for 14+ years, Certified Pole Dance Instructor and a Certified Personal Trainer through American Muscle and Fitness (2009). In addition to Pole, Jennifer is experienced in Aerial Hoop and Partner Aerial Silks with her husband, William. Initially training in Pole with a competitive gymnastics coach, she went on to do private training sessions and workshops with some of the best athletes in the world, including Olympic athlete of the decade, Christine VanLoo. She also has also had the privilege of being  on the Rochester Brigade dance team, teaching children’s dance classes and coaching CYO cheerleading.  Jennifer has also studied Chinese Pole at the New England Center of Circus Arts, and performed at events such as The Fringe Festival, The Monroe County Fair, the Lockport Circus, local nightclubs and fundraisers.  Jennifer won 1st place at the 2013 Central Pole Dance Championships in the Level 3 Artistic Division. In addition, she has participated in Polesque, the 2012 SuperShag Pole Fitness Invitational  and was an Elite Finalist in the American Pole Fitness Championship in 2012. Most recently, Jennifer won the 2nd place in the Level 4, Entertainment division at the Atlantic Pole Dance Championship.

Instructor3Jenna Abelon, Instructor
Jenna is currently certified through the National Federation of Professional Trainers and the National Association for the Professional Health Approach. She has been dancing since she was just 3 years old and worked as a Go-Go dancer and Entertainer in Los Angeles from 2007-2012. Jenna Also holds her Paralegal Degree. She has a passion for dance and was influenced by her step team and cheer squad while in high school. Jenna brings a style that is uniquely her own!

Instructor4Cheryl Dirkx-Hayes, Instructor
Over the past few years, Cheryl has been advancing her Aerial skills on Pole, Silks and Aerial Pyramid.  She is a Certified Pole Dance Instructor with Dance Discoveries. While receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at SUNY Brockport, she studied Modern Dance and currently takes classes through Garth Fagan and Flower City Ballet. Cheryl believes that the Aerial Arts can be beneficial for children on the Autism Spectrum. She hopes to research the effects of “Aerial therapy” through obtaining her Master’s degree. Cheryl is excited to be pursuing competitive Pole fitness and performing in the community. Most Recently, Cheryl placed 3rd in the Level 3 Entertainment Division at 2014 Atlantic Pole Dance Championships!

Cheryl has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1999. Call the studios for details on scheduling your personalized appointment for hair (and/or) makeup!

Annie1Annie Tobiasz, Master Trainer
Annie is one of the industries elite pole athletes. In 2012, she was selected as 1 of 8 finalists in the American Pole Fitness Championships and took home the Video of Year Award. Annie has participated in the Midwest Pole Dance Competition, Flight Club Showcase, SuperShag Pole Fitness Invitational and holds an X-Pert Pole Instructor Certification. She specializes in flexibility/contortion and has studies under David Owen, Panni Speirs (Flexibility Plus Institute), etc. Continuing to improve her skills, Annie regularly trains under Kyra Johannsen at Body and Pole in NYC. When not hosting national workshops or judging the occasional pole competition, Annie is an artist and published oil painter.
